As winter is about to be over everyone starts preparing for spring... yet no matter how long they keep waiting the residents of Gensokyo never see the spring come. Lily White who is the herald of spring never arrives and the world is stuck on an endless winter. Reimu, Marisa, and Sakuya (under orders of her mistress) decide to investigate what the flip is going on. Cause like imagine an endless winter, yea count me out I don't care how much you like the snow it's gotta end after some time. Eventually they arrive at the Netherworld where they see all of the spring being sucked up into a one giant cherry tree. The main perpetrator, the princess of Hakugyokurou, Yuyuko Saigyouji is doing all of this to revive a corpse buried under the cherry tree which prevents it from blooming out of pure curiosity.
Gimmicks, Playable Characters, and Spell Cards
Ok first gimmick of the games. This game centers around collecting spring, and spring in this sense is characterized by cherry blossom petals. After collecting enough you will get something called a Supernatural Border which is basically a temporary shield. It gives you immunity to any attack for a few moments. If youre hit then the screen is cleared of bullets and you take no damage, if not hit then you're given a Border Bonus. Also I'm pretty sure the collect all feature is introduced here. After traveling up a bit then you're automatically collect all tokens in the screen

Well more specifially she make it certain that a person will die or not. It also allows her to manipulate ghosts. She's joked as very gluttonous, even ZUN's wife did a drawing of her (they're quite inappropriate tho) around this joke. | |

Ahahaha! We have finally arrived to my section. Well were do I even begin for myself for I can only flatter myself. I am one of the oldest youkai in Gensokyo and responsible for the creation of the Great Hakurei Barrier. I'm able to manipulate the boundaries of everything and create gaps through which i'm able to freely travel through. Also by boundaries I mean every single boundary, not to flatter myself even more but this ability has been described by Hiedda no Akyuu to be a terrifying god-like ability with no weak points (Hieda said it not me). Everything is made out of a boundary, there is a boundary between the sky and mountain, if there was no boundary then there could be no sky or mountain. I also have a pretty nifty fan, it's quite fashionable. Anyways i'll keep narrating these. | |
