There is a new shrine in town... I mean Gensokyo. This shrine comes from the outside world. Though out of all places they could've settled in, they decide to settle in Youkai Mountain. They quickly start farming faith from these youkai and especially the kappa and tengu. The tengu of course not liking this they use their powers to try and stop this as well. Sanae Kochiya is sent out further out and eventually encroaches into Hakurei territory and starts stealing followers (all 4 of them or something lol). Reimu is told to shut down or else... idk. Reimu is obviouly very annoyed by all of these events that are happening and eventually explains the situation to Marisa. They eventually decide to go and investigate the Youkai mountain.
Gimmicks, Playable Characters, and Spell Cards
This game has a faith system in place. Collecting blue points consistently increases your faith and the more faith you have the more points you get per blue point (blue points are drops that have been in everygame they give you likve 1000-10000 points depending on factors like how quick you grab them or how high you are in the screen) This is also the first game where they FINALLY have a sort of point collection attraction. SO basically you get near the drops and then the points automatically come towards you. This is small little thing but it makes it feel way easier to collect things. Before if you missed it by a hair then you missed it since the items often dropped faster than the regular movement speed. Also they changed the way the power system worked, before you collected red points until you got to around 120 and then it'd give you max power. And in between you'd get a power up after collecting like 20. Now there was a set 4.00 system. Collecting red points gave you 0.01-0.05 and some big ones gave you 0.25. Once you reached a full point like 1.00, 2.00, 3.00, or 4.00, that's when you'd get a next stage. So in your shot type there was a total of 5 stages.

The god of harvests, it's said that her visiting your crops is guaranteed to give you an overabundance of crops. Is the younger sister of Shizuha Aki yet is more popular amongst believers. She is often welcomed by humans due to her nature but among gods she's a pretty minor deity. She also smells of sweetpotatoes. | |

Another goddess, she is able to gather misfortune from humans and also wards them off from Youkai mountain. She spreads the misfotunre around into objects which causes those objects to be misfotunate. That's why whenever a youkai or human encounters those things like lets say a branch, they will trip over the branch and cause some bruising. She collects misfortune through Nagashi-Bina dolls that are flown down a river. She spins around alot in her sprite so she's often depicted as infinitely spinning.  |

A kappa who lives in the Genbu Ravine. Just like kappa in Touhou these gals all have doctorates in engineering. They're pretty good with technology. But just like kappa of legends, give them something like a cucumber and they're distracted by it. Not really hostile like real kappa and DEFINITELY DONT do the "shirikodama"... do not look it up. She is able to manipulate water cause like come one she's a kappa baby. | |

Rumor has it that she's based on ZUN's own wife. Anyways she's a tengu and the reporter of Gensokyo. Being able to fly and manipulate the wind allows her to get any necessary drama for her newspaper. Self proclaimed "fastest in Gensokyo" and no one has challenged her to that. Her newspaper (Bunbunmaru) is actually quite popular with Youkai and Humans alike. | |

She didn't realise how strong humans were in Gensokyo (especially that plot armor) | |

The current god of the Moriya Shrine. Took it over during the Great Suwa War and has remained there ever since. Treats religion like a business but instead of profit being money its faith. She's a god of wind but it's more complicated than that. Officially it's known as the abilty to the element "sky" in Taoism. It's still a mystery the extent of it but more than likely she's able to manipulate the weather and wind. | |

The former god of the Moriya Shrine, she's still at the Moriya shrine and seems to have made up with her. She's the one that handles the "divine" part of the business while Kanako handles the "sales". Often represented by frogs so the whole shrine is just full of frogs, even Sanae has a little frog as a hair pin. She has the ability to create earthliness, and with Kanako has been seen change the terrain of Youkai Mountain. | |
